A Loft-y Summer Ahead & Weekend Update

In the quest to figure out my life plans, I decided to take on a part-time position to earn some extra moolah while I am searching for the perfect full-time job.

Remember last summer? I searched high and low in New York City, only to land a position at Haagen Dazs. The job ended up being amazing. I got to interact with the community, meet some great NYU students, make money and eat the best ice cream money can buy (I'm a bit biased).

Lo-and-behold, I got a job here in no time. I went and applied last week at Ann Taylor Loft, interviewed Friday and started yesterday. Badda-boom-badda-bing. I am excited to have something to do and so far, I've met some incredible people. If you've been in my closet, you know that 75% or more of it is Loft, so I have a feeling this will not be good for my plan of saving money... I need to be strict with myself, but everything is so darn cute and fits well. I'm also having to relearn what's in-style. Over the last year, my "style" has turned into running shorts, tennis shoes and t-shirts because of hectic schedules and my growing love for exercise. However, wearing gym shorts all day is about to change.

Come by to visit! There's a sale going on right now!

My favorite pieces as of today:

I have a bit of a ring fetish

Camera bag?

Coming back to Chapel Hill from the beach last week was eerie. I'm telling you, everyone has moved away. The tumbleweed has rolled in. I have a few friends who are still around and I went out on Saturday to Top of the Hill. All of us said the same thing, "Where....is everyone we know?" It was a much older crowd and just...sad. We're not in Undergrad-land anymore, people.

I was lucky, however, to get the chance to say a more formal good-bye to a friend (and old roommate) today who is moving out to Colorado Springs. Alex and I went to a restaurant called Dames in Durham. Have you heard of it?

They serve chicken-n-waffles. I know, very southern. But delicious. And may I suggest the mac-n-cheese?  You get full after approximately five minutes, but you just keep eating because it is that good. My waffles were sweet potato flavored. If you ever want to go, I am your gal. Of course, we'll have to exercise right after.

I've loved all the responses from THE Bucket List. I have loved all the comments, texts and "I'll absolutely do ______ with you"s. I'm excited to get this list going. I love adventure and trying new things, so it gives me something to look forward to.

Once I had written down everything I wanted to accomplish, I said to myself, "I hope I can afford to do all these things." So I took out my redneck wine glass and made a travel fund out of it, collecting all the loose change around my room and promising myself that it would one day turn into an amazing trip (with whoever else wants to come along). I labeled it "One Day".

Redneck Wine Glasses are great, aren't they?

I'll be back later in the week to talk about staying connected!

Hope you are having a great start to the week!

Always,
Carrie
