If you asked me, I would tell you that today I went to the Raleigh flea market with my friend, Jordan, and got really inspired to work on projects for a future apartment. I would tell you that fixing up a place and making it my own is something that I am incredibly looking forward to and I just wish that I already knew where that place would be.
If you asked me, I would tell you that I carry my camera around everywhere. It's become a permanent accessory around my neck. I'm not sure what I'm doing, but I try out different settings all the time.
If you asked me, I would tell you that I wish that I could fly to see some of the people I miss the most. That Chapel Hill is empty and that I'm missing what I had before graduation-- a constant flow of friends and things to do. That learning to be independent is a slow process-- a growing process-- but a slow process, nonetheless.
I would tell you that I honestly love working at Ann Taylor Loft so much. Talking with people and hearing their story are what makes the job worthwhile. I may not be the best at putting together outfits or ringing up their clothes on the register, but I try, and we will be best friends before you walk out the store. I met a lady from Cornelius, NC the other day-- we chatted for over an hour. And she left with a lot more clothes than I believe she anticipated buying in the first place.
If you asked me, I would tell you that I am excited about the future and my dreams are BIG, but I am
If you asked me, I would tell you that the other night I was sitting on the top of this mountain, and a family approached my friend, Sally, and I and said, "Want to hear some great news? That woman right there just found out yesterday she is cancer free."And then the woman came over to tell us that, "There are many terrible things about chemo, but not having to shave my legs for more than 6 months was not one of them!" She was smiling. She looked happy and healthy. Boy, does that make all that anxiousness about finding a job seem about as important as a mole hill?
If you asked me, I would tell you that I love kids and babysitting. That singing Adele while playing dress up is my favorite. So is bike riding. That I've watched this little boy go from 3 weeks old to 3 years old in my time at Carolina. That he and his siblings are pretty special to me.
If you were to ask me, and if I was being honest, I would tell you that I am feeling the need to be challenged. To go do something that changes my life and helps others. Not sure where that feeling is coming from or how to answer it, but I'm ready.
If you asked me, I would say that I am enjoying my weekend and thankful for the summer projects, jobs and friends that keep me busy and love me each day. :)
Always,
Carrie
