Every day I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to be having this experience. I often find myself looking up at all the tall buildings with my mouth wide open staring at all of the intricate detailing of the architecture. Every building sports a different design and every street has little treasures just waiting to be discovered. There's not a day that goes by that I am not in awe. This weekend was no exception. Whether it be stumbling upon Carnegie Hall and the Russian Tea Room or finding the cutest Italian restaurant in Little Italy with your roommate (called Bread), a young New Yorker like myself can never be bored.

Saturday morning, I got up to experience the Union Square farmer's market which is unlike anything I've seen. Fresh breads, fish, meats, flowers and the smell of cooking breakfast filled the air. I'll be spending my Saturday mornings there from now on for sure. Saturday was my "travel" day and my roommate and I went up to the Times Square area. The Washington Square area where I live feels more like a neighborhood, but there is something truly magical about going up to the Times Square, no matter how touristy. Everything is glamorized and glitzy-- truly a New York experience. A festival with Nutella- filled crepes and jewelry hand-crafted by those wishing to make a few bucks lined the streets of the packed city. The smells and sounds of the city are something I wish I could post on here for you to experience
Saturday night, I went back to the Times Square area to show a girl I met on my hall who'd hadn't seen much around the city and I took her to one of my fave places, Ellen's Stardust, where your waitress or waiter turns into your entertainment. The restaurant has lost nine servers in the last month to broadway casts throughout the city. They fill up your water glass while singing "Don't Stop Believing" as a duet with the server downstairs.
Sunday, I spent the morning with an old friend from high school catching up after not seeing each other for four years. It's amazing, you know you are friends with someone when even after such a long time, you can instantly go back to where you left off. Haagen Dazs has also turned out to be a pretty easy and fun job. I love talking to New Yorkers who are shocked my hospitality and dare I say southern characteristics?
Today I went to my internship and worked on getting clowns and other entertainment to come to the NYC Buddy Walk on September 24th. I also went out to a wine-tasting bar at the City Winery and ate dinner at a cool Pizza Pasta Bar, where the atmosphere was perfect. I got to catch with a girl from UNC-CH and our summers we have had thus far in the Big Apple. We met up with some of her family. I don't know much about wine, so I stuck to a sweeter wine that suited perfectly.
Stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be.

Can you believe I have been in the city for 3 weeks?? Tonight I am also going to create a bucket list. There's so many "have to dos" before I leave. Every weekend I'm reminded how fast time is flying by and I need to take advantage of everything this city has to offer.
I got to chat tonight with my friend, Anna Beth and it was so great. I'm so excited her and Gracie are coming to visit me in July! OH, and I bought $22.00 tickets for Anything Goes, one of the shows that I had as a must see while I was here. You cannot beat $22.00 tickets on July 19th!!
"There is so much about my fate that I cannot control, but other things do fall under the jurisdiction. I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with, whom I share my body and life and money and energy with. I can select what I can read and eat and study. I can choose how I'm going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life-whether I will see them as curses or opportunities. I can choose my words and the tone of voice in which I speak to others. And most of all, I can choose my thoughts."

I'm through accepting limits,
'Cuz someone says they're so!
Some things I cannot change,
but 'till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
losing love, I guess I've lost!
Well, if that's love, it comes at much to high a cost!
I'd sooner buy defying gravity
