Just Little Things

My friend, Maggie, sent me a link to a blog called Just Little Things and it is a list of everything that we should appreciate in a day.

Some of my favorites include: 

572. The moment you find the person you were looking for. 

562. Having all the ingrediants you need to make a recipe. 

546. Lit-up Christmas trees.  

Actually, the entire list is amazing (and true!) and you should definitely spend a few minutes looking through it. That'll brighten up your Monday (and my first day of classes).

I decided to start making my own "little things" list because I think I just made it my New Year's Resolution (8 days in) to start seeing everything in a more positive light, which ties into my appreciate resolution nicely. Don't you think?

Here are my 8 little things of the day...

1. Handwritten Correspondence. 

You know, e-mail is nice and quick. But NOTHING beats getting a straight-from-the-heart handwritten card or note. Always makes my day. And I need to get better at sending these myself!

 My wall of cards and meaningful pictures over my desk, as to always be reminded of love.

2. Christmas decorations that stay-up past their take-down time. 

 3. Piano covers of songs I love. How beautiful is this Coldplay cover? Could listen all day...

4. Candles that brighten the mood when you're hard at work. Or blogging.

5. New School Supplies. Classes may suck, but starting fresh notebooks is always fun, right!? That's what I'm telling myself anyways...

6. This teeny-tiny perfect seashell my mom found on the beach a couple years ago. I miss the beach, but I'm going this weekend for a retreat for UNC Dance Marathon! Hello, beach run.

7. New York Sunsets. Because they were beautiful. I am missing New York City and I'm itching to be back.

8. Emily's 21st Birthday. It was a blast and was a success for all, especiallay the birthday girl. Happy Birthday, sweet friend.
